I would like to introduce my self. My name is Shane Oliver. I am 41 years old and have been involved in many sports since a young age. I started weight lifting the last few years of high school. Using the school gym just so I could put on some weight because I was such a skinny kid. Weighing 136 lbs. I was amazed on how my body changed; from then on I was hooked. As time went on and I started see more changes, I knew from that moment that I would always be involved in weight lifting. I started to do some reading about the sport of bodybuilding and was so impressed by some of the Pros that I saw inthe magazines. I watched a movie that almost everyone has seen and that movie was "Pumping Iron". The rest is history. I have competed a few times and placed quite well. I had a goal to go Pro, which I think a lot of the kids in the gym had had that goal as well. Later on in my early 20's I was dieting for a competition, so a few weeks before the show I decided to go to Florida to work on my tan (I don't remember having tanning beds back then).

When I returned from my tanning experience my life had a very big change. I was in a very serious car accident. A drunk driver had hit me. I had amnesia for about 3 to for 4 months, and still to this day I don't remember the accident (I guess that's a good thing). I had seen 35 doctors after that, and they all gave me the same advice " you will not be able to do this sport anymore and you should consider other ways to keep in shape". Over the years my injuries caused me to take many layoffs from the sport. The accident caused many problems such as an injured back, shoulder surgery, trying to remember day-to-day things and completing a simple task. I had to make a decision, keep trying or just pack it in. I still worked out but just to keep in shape. I started a family and have three fantastic kids, a great wife who supports me 100% (and believe me if I try to change or cheat on my diet in any way, it's like Scott is looking over my shoulder and she lets me know big time, HAVE YOU SEEN THE MOVIE CHUCKY!). When I turned forty I wanted to be in better shape and try new things when it came to training and my diet but just wasn't sure how to do this. I went to the gym to train one day and I ran in to my friend Chris Fusco. I heard he was doing well with is training .The first thing I noticed about Chris was the shape he was in, so I started to ask him questions. Chris told me he had a coach and his name was Scott Abel, so I asked him more questions and more and more and more. Chris said, "If your interested, look on Scott's site". So I went home right away and did just that. It was just like being a kid in a candy store for me. I read and read. That was January 2007. So six months of reading and having lots of discussions with my wife about how positive it would be to have Scott as my coach I joined the Abel team in June 2007. The thing that impressed me about Scott is the amount of knowledge he has and how he shares it with others. Also the shape that Scott is in and how he could do this for so many years. Scott is a very direct guy, he tells you how it is and he has done that to me a few times. Scott will also give you the praise and support you need and you can only have respect for someone like him. Scott has shown me how to be positive and how to be very patient with this new way of life. The positive part I already had but the patient part needed work. You see, you can teach old dogs new tricks. Now at 41 I have become a personal Trainer. I am still fascinated about the body and how it can change through diet and intense training and I have Scott to thank for this. If it weren't for his know how and support I would be doing the same old thing "MISTAKES".

Thanks again Scott for all the support for myself, but to all the clients that you support as well. It is greatly appreciated Scott and I am looking forward to many more changes.
