My name is Aaron Jewell. I first entered the world of weight training as a teenager to get stronger and more powerful for sports and martial arts. Shortly after, my interest in bodybuilding developed, and I decided that one day I would like to try competing and see how far I could go. I soon found that it was too difficult to juggle all my athletic interests, and decide to focus on bodybuilding exclusively. I made some good progress, and really liked to push my body as far as I could. I was very influenced by the training style of Dorian Yates which was based upon low volume, and training to failure and beyond through the use of tools such as forced reps. Over time this type of training took it's toll on me, and I developed many aches and pains and injuries here and there. I stuck with it though, and began competing in 2001 at the age of 21. I had a blast doing it (although at that age I had a tough time sticking to my diet and avoiding the party lifestyle lol!), and decided I was going to pursue it further. I competed again the next year and managed to qualify for the 2003 Canadian Nationals. At this point in my bodybuilding career, I was convinced that bulking up was the key to gaining a lot of size, so being a bit of an extremist, I took bulking to the extreme!! I went from a ripped 174 to 265 lbs in less than a year, and needless to say looked and felt terrible. Sure I was really big and strong, but at 5'6, that was not a pretty sight, people would ask if I was a powerlifter or a football lineman! I managed to diet down from 265 to 185 in 16 weeks for nationals, and suffered immensely to get there. That is eighty pounds in 4 months!!! I went to the Nationals, and looked ok for what I had been through, but was not in shape, and ended up finishing dead last in my class. This was a huge disappointment for me, and I was close to quitting competing. I decided however, to go back to the provincials, and try to redeem myself and prove to myself that I could get into shape and do well in competition. Again I had bulked up (this time to only 240 pounds lol!!), but this time dieted longer and managed to get into really good shape, and win the light-heavyweight class and overall title. That was one of the best moments of my life as I proved to myself that I could be not only competitive, but exceed my hopes and expectations and be victorious as well!! From there I continued to train to compete, but suffered injury after injury, and constantly battled my weight. I tried many diet and training strategies, but nothing really seemed to stop the injuries or the fat accumulation. I had seen the results that Scott Abel's clients had received over the years, and noticed a trend of his athletes being consistently the most ripped, and almost always being in the winner's circle. I had contemplated hiring Scott for awhile after my good friend Ron Partlow had fantastic results working with him. I finally decided to hire Scott after watching one of his clients win the overall at the B.C. provincials after placing 4th in his class the previous year. Since hiring Scott I have made awesome gains in size and muscle maturity following his innervations training programs, and more recently MET and hybrid programs, which in turn have corrected some muscle imbalances and eliminated my injury problems!! Also, I have been able to improve my metabolism through following his cycle diet. I no longer need 2 wardrobes for off-season and contest time, since my weight stays in balance. Not only has Scott helped me enhance my physique, he also helped my secure a contract with a large supplement company, and most recently achieve a top 3 placing at the Canadian nationals in a class where the winner won the entire show ( a tad better than my previous attempt in 2003 where I was 14th place!!!). Whatever your physique goals are, Scott's coaching will help you achieve and exceed them, without compromising health or metabolism.
